Brandon’s Birthday

4 years old already! Time seems to accelerate exponentially each year. What a great Birthday, all day Brandon was the most excited and happiest I have ever seen him. Opened a few presents in the morning, some more at lunch time and then finally opening the rest after dinner and before cake and ice cream. The only question now is where to put all these new power ranger and iron man toys.

Party time was at the lake a few days later. All of his friends came for fun, swimming, games and cookie cake. For 5 hours they played and splashed and had a great time while the Moms all sat, talked and enjoyed the sun.

Hopefully this year doesn’t go quite as quick as the last 4.

Mother’s Day at NJ Aquarium

Not such a nice day this year so the plans to head to the shore are replaced with a fun day at the Aquarium. Aidan and Brandon are both excited about seeing the rays and the sharks and spend most of the morning running around the house pretending to be various types of shark.

The aquarium is still one of the great attractions in south Jersey boasting the shark tunnel where you can walk through the shark tank and get up close to the sharks, an area where the kids can stroke sand sharks and baby rays, and the big tank which has full size rays, turtles, and a host of other fish. The kids had a great time and the mothers I’m sure enjoyed two happy boys running around and not causing havoc.

Soccer

Both Aidan and Brandon are playing in the township rec leagues now – not sure if either of the them are really into it but they enjoy the park afterwards…

Easter

Hop Hop Hop – the Easter bunny came in the night a dropped a whole load of eggs and candy and presents. And after many egg hunts around the garden we jumped in the car for a quick trip to Cape may zoo and then to the Lobster House in Cape May for dinner – its great to have 76 degree weather for Easter

Christmas

Santa managed to land the sleigh in the snow and unloaded most of Toys R Us around the Christmas tree. IMG_4961Santa had hardly left the building before the sound of little feet running across the landing could be heard, and then the door crashed open and up on to the bed jumped one of the excited boys. We just managed to get him back to sleep when the second one came crashing in and that was it and there was nothing left to do other than get up and go see what Santa had brought for everyone.

Snow!!!

White Christmas came a little this year – we ended up with 24 inches of snow the week before Christmas. The snow was so bad that the township was unable to clear our cul-de-sac for three days so even though we had a nice clean drive was that was as far as I could go in my car – luckily the SUV was fine but school was closed and Aidan got an extra 2 days of Christmas Holiday.

Brandon’s Christmas Concert

Aidan’s Birthday

8 already – where did the time go! Cliché, perhaps, but  still it seems like only yesterday when we had his first Birthday party at the house and everyone was enjoying the late September sun and now 7 years on we are having a Birthday party at Norma’s cafe before heading over for crazy golf.

Back to School

Summer days are over and it is time once again for backpacks full of books and the school bus full yelling kids. Brandon’s first day a pre-school, not  sure who is more nervous Brandon or Mommy:

A long weekend at Wildwood

I managed to sneak 2 days away from the office and we loaded up the truck with enough stuff to last a month and we drove down to Wildwood Crest. Although the hotel was not the world’s best we had a great time and really enjoyed the Water park on the pier, and then 2 days in the backing sun (did I hear something about Englishmen and mad dogs in the midday sun). It was sold to me as a few days to relax on the beach but strangely enough the chorus of Daddy! Daddy! never ended but we had a great time body surfing, jumping waves and building sand castles:
